All schools in District 401 are officially back in session! On the students’ first day back, excitement was in the air as they said goodbye to summer and hello to the bright school year ahead. Lively energy and first-day jitters were felt throughout the classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds. Students were in high spirits as they reunited with old friends, met new classmates, and settled into their routines. With sunshine and perfect weather, it was the kind of first day everyone hopes for. Catch a glimpse of the day's highlights in the video below!

Classes jumped right back into interesting activities, including Vanessa Cleys’ High School Social Studies class. She shared, “The first day of school at EP went seamlessly! It was so nice to see so many familiar faces and meet some new ones. My students were able to tell me about themselves through a letter, create class constitutions, and write some goals for the year.”

Seniors marked the occasion by decorating their cars to celebrate their final year at Elmwood Park High School. For many, it was a bittersweet ‘last first day’.

With the school year back in full swing, the once quiet halls are now filled with chatter, laughter, music, and morning announcements. It's a delightful feeling to have the students back at District 401. Here, we're committed to setting our students up for success—and we’re looking forward to our best year yet!
