WE ARE 401: Elmwood Park High School's Roy Zuniga — making his mark at TCD and beyond
Dave Porreca, Communications & Social Media Specialist
In our latest "WE ARE 401" video we meet Roy Zuniga, a senior at Elmwood Park High School.
Before this year, Roy had already built a reputation as an outstanding choir singer, theater performer, athlete and college prep student. But this year he added something new to his accomplishments — recognition as one of the top students at the Technology Center of DuPage (TCD).
Roy enrolled in TCD's Emergency Medical Technician program, adding another major commitment to his already full schedule of academic courses (AP Calculus AB anyone?), sports (cross country and track), choir (Swing, Concert and a few honors ensembles) and theater (leading roles in the fall play and spring musical).
Not surprising to anyone who knows Roy, he thrived in the face of the challenge, quickly mastering an entirely new skill set. He also joined his older sister, Athena, a 2022 EPHS alum and TCD cosmetology graduate, as a winner of TCD's highly selective Student of the Month award.
So join us as we get to know Roy and learn about his secret to success. We'll also hear from his sister, one of his EMT instructors and several of his EPHS teachers. As Roy says, it's all about time management!
"WE ARE 401" is a video series highlighting people of all ages who have a connection with Elmwood Park Community Unit School District 401, past or present, and whose stories help illustrate who we are.
